Description:
  • Conducts analysis, creates system specifications, develops, tests and implements engineering, scientific and business applications, operating systems, and file/database servers. Utilizes existing or new technology in the automation of processes. Evaluates software packages and provides recommendations to management. Responsibilities of this position include the following:
  • Designs and administers HP OpenView Operations (Operations Manager) SiteScope, Business Process, Monitors and Business Activity Center for complex systems on UNIX and Windows based platform.
  • Provide expert technical assistance and consulting support to clients.
  • Maintain systems and the hosted services through monitoring, data backup, troubleshooting and proactive security measures.
  • Develop highly complex tools for managing the system and makes all services available to users.
  • Manage different types of complex technologies and services into a heterogeneous environment including those outside the operating system domain such as networking services, hot systems and third party software.
  • Responsible for system-wide complex components or complex projects.
  • Provide direction for entire project or a project team.
  • Influence at account level and at customer management level.
  • Solve unique highly complex problems.
  • Develop and write proposals and price out projects.
  • Resolve escalated issues/problems with broad knowledge.

    Local applicants preferred. Six month contract with extensions possible.

Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of directly related experience with 3 years experience in HP OpenView (Operations Center) administration.
  • Expert knowledge of UNIX, Shell, Perl Scripting, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at a complex level.
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with peers and upper management.
  • Demonstrated experience with applying complex principles into business applications.
  • Project Management skills, including the ability to develop and monitor work agree.


Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field; or the equivalent combination education and experience.
